Kamasutra 3D still in the Oscar race
The movie, The Good Road directed by Gyan Correa, which was India's Oscar entry has not made it into the 9 films short-listed for the honor.The results were declared on their official website.
Yet, Indians are not loose hope as Indian movie, Kamasutra 3D by Rupesh Paul is still running on the right tracks for the 86 Academy Awards with selection in the three categories - Best Motion Picture, Original Score and Original Song with 5 songs. It is the only movie from India contending in the music category lists. The 86th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Presented by Dr. George John (GJ Entertainments) and produced under the house of Rupesh Paul Productions Ltd. (RPPL), in co-production and project design by Sohan Roy,Kamasutra 3D is the only Indian movie, in the history of Academy Awards, with 5 songs after The Great Gatsby to be selected in the Original Song category. The songs include - AygiriNandini, Saawariya, I Felt, Of Soil and HarHarMahadeva - composed by Chennai based music directors, Sachin&Sreejith while its lyrics are penned by Rupesh Paul and Pratyush Prakash.
After the Oscar success of Rasool Pookutty and A. R. Rehman, India now looks forward to the success of Kamasutra 3D and is all hopeful to bag the sworded-man at least in one category, if not all.

‘Soongava’ couldn’t make it to the Oscars competition
The movie selected by the Nepali selection committee to represent Nepal in the Academy Awards, Oscars, couldn’t make it to the short-listing. The movie made on a lesbian love story, ‘Soongava’ was selected by a Nepali committee for the Oscars competition to compete in the Best Foreign Movie category.
The Oscars Awards organizer The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science has recently released the list of movies short-listed for the final competition. Nepali movie is not in the list.
‘Soongava’ features Nisha Adhikari and Diya Maskey in the lead roles. The movie directed by Suwarna Thapa was selected from the pool of the movies released in the last year.
Other movies competing with ‘Soongava’ were ‘Badhshala’ and ‘Shirish Ko Phool’. There was a controversy in the selection of ‘Soongava’ and the nationality of the director, Suwarna. The movie is also planned to be released in the theaters in Kathmandu.
